  • Position: Intake Specialist

    Reports To: Recovery Resource Center (RRC) Operations Manager

    Location: Recovery Resource Center and communities within the Portland Metropolitan Area

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and occasional evenings/weekends

    Wage: $22.00/hr.

    Overall function

    Going Home II provides culturally specific and relevant services to the Black and/or African American community locally. The Intake Specialist will help create an environment and culture that enables us to fulfill our mission of providing exceptional client service. We’re currently seeking an enthusiastic professional to fill this full-time role and rise to the challenge. The ideal candidate is an extremely detail-oriented and personable multitasker who has experience in working in a fast-paced office setting. The ideal candidate will bring resourcefulness, organization, and stellar communication skills to the Center with a knack for keeping cool under pressure.

    Responsibilities

    • Greet clients and visitors with a positive, helpful attitude

    • Direct clients and visitors to the services needed

    • Answering phones and emails in a professional manner

    • Screening and forwarding calls and emails to the appropriate person

    • Announcing clients to staff as necessary

    • Helping maintain workplace security by maintaining visitor logs

    • Assisting with a variety of administrative tasks including copying and faxing

    • Prepare client intake packets with appropriate forms and prepare labels

    • Log clients into database and file folders as required

    • Maintain paperwork and client files as needed

    • Receiving mail and deliveries

    • Assisting staff with administrative tasks, as needed

    • Provide excellent customer service

    • Carries out other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities

    • Experience working with individuals who are or who have recently experienced homelessness, addictions/ mental health challenges, and who may have significant barriers to employment

    • Computer proficiency at a level needed to effectively perform job functions such as entering and retrieving data and preparing simple reports

    • Consistent, professional dress, and manners

    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

    • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

    • Able to multitask and manage time effectively

    • Experience with administrative and clerical procedures

    • Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping with various tasks as required

    • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a related field

    • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Position: Intensive Case Manager

    Reports To: Intensive Case Manager Supervisor

    Location: Communities within the Portland Metropolitan Area

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and occasional evenings/weekends

    Wage: $25.00/hr.

    Overall Function

    Going Home II provides culturally specific and relevant services to the Black and/or African American community locally. The Intensive Case Manager will identify as a person with lived experience in high risk, violence impacted populations considered to be a public health issue and will work with individuals at the highest risk of being victims and/or perpetrators of gun violence. The Intensive Case Manager will establish a trusting relationship with participants, help them mitigate their risk factors and eventually connect them to services, supports and opportunities when the participant is ready.

    Responsibilities

    • Establish an individual outreach plan for each participant that includes a safety plan, a life plan, as well as milestones for each plan

    • Maintain and document detailed records of client progress regularly, including all contacts, milestones, and significant developments

    • Able to make initial contact within 24 hours of referral and in person contact within 48 hours

    • Assist participants with dealing with stress and crisis by providing support and needed services

    • Meet regularly with clients, to discuss progress and adjust individual plans accordingly

    • Encourage participants with program incentives for accomplishing milestones within their individualized plans

    • Identify, engage, and build a positive and trusting relationship with participant in hopes to improve decision making and overall change

    • Effectively case manage up to 15 individuals

    • Provide community outreach to support victims and families with the main concern being safety

    • Attend weekly meetings, scheduled trainings as well as opportunities for professional development

    • Establish trusting and sustained relationships with each participant’s family members using the same outreach and interactions as with participants

    • Implement a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program

    • Provide participant with services to programs and opportunities such as, job programs, GED, drug treatment, mental health, and mentoring

    • Carries out other duties as assigned

    Skills and Abilities

    • Able to provide Intensive Case Management services in a strengths-based, recovery-oriented, trauma informed and culturally humble manner

    • Strong commitment to serving justice-involved individuals with support services and behavioral health needs

    • Ability to relate, through lived experience, to the individuals we serve

    • Experience working with individuals who are or who have recently experienced homelessness, addictions/ mental health challenges, and who may have significant barriers to accessing services

    • Must be willing to embrace a self-directed approach to case management

    • Computer proficiency at a level needed to effectively perform job functions such as entering and retrieving data and preparing simple reports

    • Possess a valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, a sufficient driving history, and able to meet the minimum insurance required

  • Position: Peer Support Specialist

    Reports To: Peer Support Supervisor

    Location: Recovery Resource Center and communities within the Portland Metropolitan Area

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and occasional evenings/weekends

    Wage: $25.00/hr.

    Overall Function

    Going Home II provides culturally specific and relevant services to the Black and/or African American community locally. The Peer Support Specialist will identify as a person with lived experience in addictions or mental health services and have experience providing services to individuals who have or are experiencing homelessness, addictions and/or mental health challenges and are seeking services at all stages of change. The Support Specialist will support members of the community that may need a variety of services, including substance use disorder treatment, housing and employment services and recovery support services, through education, resource, and referral.

    Responsibilities

    • Conducts social, health and wellness screening for all new participants

    • Assists clients in securing community resources and support

    • Connects clients to other community resources such as recovery support meetings, medical/dental services, SNAP/TANF, etc.

    • Assist program participants in the development of skills, confidence, and relationships

    • Facilitate groups in an open and welcoming environment

    • Help participants understand and employ recovery strategies

    • Demonstrates through role-modeling, recovery practices including pro-social thinking and behavior

    • Coordinates appropriate referrals as directed by the client’s choice

    • Works as an advocate to support client goals and recovery

    • Assist client in job development & job search activities consistent with client’s needs and interests

    • Provide employment support services, such as employment related needs and barrier removal

    • Assist clients in finding & sustaining employment

    • Carries out other duties as assigned

    • Must have a mindset that embraces individual rights, self-directed recovery and proactively advocates for participants regardless of their chosen pathway to recovery

    • Computer proficiency at a level needed to effectively perform job functions such as entering and retrieving data and preparing simple reports

    • Possess a valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, a sufficient driving history, and able to meet the minimum insurance required

    • Must meet requirements to complete Peer Delivered Service trainings approved by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)

  • Position: Peer Support Housing Specialist

    Reports To: Peer Support Supervisor

    Location: Recovery Resource Center and communities within the Portland Metropolitan Area

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and occasional evenings/weekends

    Wage: $25.00/hr.

    Overall function

    Going Home II provides culturally specific and relevant services to the Black and/or African American community locally. The Peer Support Housing Specialist will identify as a person with lived experience in addictions or mental health services and have experience providing services to individuals who have or are experiencing homelessness, addictions and/or mental health challenges and are seeking services at all stages of change. The Housing Specialist will carry out supported housing services by helping members of the community obtain and sustain housing that is consistent with their vocational goals and recovery.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide community-based housing support services to individuals to meet the identified strengths-based housing goals including the housing search, placement, and retention of permanent housing

    • Preparing and maintaining records, activity documentation, and reports

    • Assessing individuals’ eligibility and determining their housing and service needs

    • Providing individuals with resourceful information as well as additional support programs and services

    • Establish and maintain relationships with community partners, landlords, and property management companies/owners

    • Support individuals in filling out rental applications and other necessary housing documentation

    • Assist individuals in obtaining housing financial assistance when needed and requesting reasonable accommodations to overcome barriers to housing

    • Collaborate with housing providers and landlords around any tenant issues and seeks to resolve concerns

    • Coordinate services with other providers to support individual's choice housing goals

    • Facilitate and/or provide tenant education classes to ensure individuals understand their rights and responsibilities as tenants

    • Carries out other duties as assigned

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Position: Peer Support Supervisor

    Reports To: Executive Director

    Location: Recovery Resource Center and communities within the Portland Metropolitan Area

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and occasional evenings/weekends

    Wage: $29.00/hr.

    Overall Function:

    Going Home II provides culturally specific and relevant services to the Black and/or African American community locally. The Peer Support Supervisor will identify as a person with lived experience in addictions or mental health services and have experience providing services to individuals who have or are experiencing homelessness, addictions and/or mental health challenges and are seeking services at all stages of change. The Peer Support Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of Peers and peer supported services such as referrals, housing, employment, outreach, and case management.

    Responsibilities:

    • Represent the agency in a quality control and quality improvement capacity

    • Provides administrative supervision focused on organizational efficiency, performance measures, task oriented and urgent deadlines

    • Provides consultative supervision focused on professional development and relationships with participants

    • Monitors the delivery of support services and assures quality and accessibility of services delivered by Peer Support Specialists

    • Responsible for developing and implementing a supervision plan for Peer Support Specialists

    • Assures compliance and established protocols, policies, and procedures are being met by Peers

    • Ensures that the participants are assessed for and connected to clinically appropriate services

    • Attends required staff meetings and scheduled trainings

    • Assists in the identification of any barriers to services and works collaboratively to resolve

    • Collaborates with management to develop ideas and implements new principles for program services

    • Responsible for tracking of program incentives and services for participants

    • Reviews the service notes and documentation with Peer Support Specialists for appropriateness and effectiveness

    • Follows and upholds agency’s policies and procedures accordingly

    • Provides leadership to Peer Support Specialists

    • Collaborates with Directors to ensure all protocols are being followed

    • Assists with referral linkage to other services and community resources

    • Effectively communicates job and service expectations to Peer Support Specialists

    • Carries out other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities

    • Must be willing to embrace a self-directed approach to recovery and services

    • Requires three years of supervisory and/or management experience
