  • Position: Intake Specialist

    Reports To: Recovery Resource Center (RRC) Operations Manager

    Location: Recovery Resource Center and communities within the Portland Metropolitan Area

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and occasional evenings/weekends

    Wage: $22.00/hr.

    Benefits: Competitive Benefits Package

    Overall function

    Going Home II provides culturally specific and relevant services to the Black and/or African American community locally. The Intake Specialist will help create an environment and culture that enables us to fulfill our mission of providing exceptional client service. We’re currently seeking an enthusiastic professional to fill this full-time role and rise to the challenge. The ideal candidate is an extremely detail-oriented and personable multitasker who has experience in working in a fast-paced office setting. The ideal candidate will bring resourcefulness, organization, and stellar communication skills to the Center with a knack for keeping cool under pressure.

    Responsibilities

    • Greet clients and visitors with a positive, helpful attitude

    • Direct clients and visitors to the services needed

    • Answering phones and emails in a professional manner

    • Screening and forwarding calls and emails to the appropriate person

    • Announcing clients to staff as necessary

    • Helping maintain workplace security by maintaining visitor logs

    • Assisting with a variety of administrative tasks including copying and faxing

    • Prepare client intake packets with appropriate forms and prepare labels

    • Log clients into database and file folders as required

    • Maintain paperwork and client files as needed

    • Receiving mail and deliveries

    • Assisting staff with administrative tasks, as needed

    • Provide excellent customer service

    • Carries out other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities

    • Experience working with individuals who are or who have recently experienced homelessness, addictions/ mental health challenges, and who may have significant barriers to employment

    • Computer proficiency at a level needed to effectively perform job functions such as entering and retrieving data and preparing simple reports

    • Consistent, professional dress, and manners

    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

    • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

    • Able to multitask and manage time effectively

    • Experience with administrative and clerical procedures

    • Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping with various tasks as required

    • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a related field

    • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Position: Peer Support Employment Specialist

    Reports To: Peer Support Supervisor

    Location: Recovery Resource Center and communities within the Portland Metropolitan Area

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and occasional evenings/weekends

    Wage: $25.00/hr.

    Overall function

    Going Home II provides culturally specific and relevant services to the Black and/or African American community locally. The Peer Support Employment Specialist will identify as a person with lived experience in addictions or mental health services

    and have experience providing services to individuals who have or are experiencing homelessness, addictions and/or mental health challenges and are seeking services at all stages of change. The Employment Specialist will carry out supported

    employment services by helping members of the community obtain and maintain employment that is consistent with their vocational goals and recovery.

    Responsibilities

    • Engages consumers and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in integrated job settings

    • Assesses consumers’ vocational functioning on ongoing basis

    • Following Supported Employment principles and procedures, helps consumers in job development and job search activities directed toward positions that are consistent with consumers’ needs and interests

    • Provides individualized, time-unlimited, follow-along services to help consumers sustain employment

    • Based on agreement with consumers, provides education and support to employers, which may include negotiating job accommodations and follow-along contact with employers

    • Provides outreach services to consumers, as necessary, when they appear to disengage from Supported Employment services. If necessary, maintains some contact with consumers even without a vocational focus to sustain engagement

    • Meets regularly with treatment team members to coordinate and integrate vocational services into treatment settings

    • Draws up individual employment plans with consumers, case managers, and other treatment team providers and updates the plans quarterly

    • Spends at least 60 percent of time providing direct services

    • Carries out other duties as assigned

    Skills and Abilities

    • Experience working with individuals who are or who have recently experienced homelessness, addictions/ mental health challenges, and who may have significant barriers to employment

    • Must be willing to embrace a self-directed approach to recovery and services

    • The ability to effectively advocate client needs and willingness to educate and empower community partners and employers to provide services and employment opportunities that are healthy and safe for the Black community

    • Must have a mindset that embraces consumers rights and works as part of a team to assist in the overall goals of the consumer

    • Computer proficiency at a level needed to effectively perform job functions such as entering and retrieving data and preparing simple reports

    • Possess a valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, a sufficient driving history, and able to meet the minimum insurance required

    • Must meet requirements to complete Peer Delivered Service trainings approved by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)

  • Position: Peer Support Supervisor

    Reports To: Executive Director

    Location: Recovery Resource Center and communities within the Portland Metropolitan Area

    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and occasional evenings/weekends

    Wage: $29.00/hr.

    Benefits: Competitive Benefits Package

    Overall Function:

    Going Home II provides culturally specific and relevant services to the Black and/or African American community locally. The Peer Support Supervisor will identify as a person with lived experience in addictions or mental health services and have experience providing services to individuals who have or are experiencing homelessness, addictions and/or mental health challenges and are seeking services at all stages of change. The Peer Support Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of Peers and peer supported services such as referrals, housing, employment, outreach, and case management.

    Responsibilities:

    • Represent the agency in a quality control and quality improvement capacity

    • Provides administrative supervision focused on organizational efficiency, performance measures, task oriented and urgent deadlines

    • Provides consultative supervision focused on professional development and relationships with participants

    • Monitors the delivery of support services and assures quality and accessibility of services delivered by Peer Support Specialists

    • Responsible for developing and implementing a supervision plan for Peer Support Specialists

    • Assures compliance and established protocols, policies, and procedures are being met by Peers

    • Ensures that the participants are assessed for and connected to clinically appropriate services

    • Attends required staff meetings and scheduled trainings

    • Assists in the identification of any barriers to services and works collaboratively to resolve

    • Collaborates with management to develop ideas and implements new principles for program services

    • Responsible for tracking of program incentives and services for participants

    • Reviews the service notes and documentation with Peer Support Specialists for appropriateness and effectiveness

    • Follows and upholds agency’s policies and procedures accordingly

    • Provides leadership to Peer Support Specialists

    • Collaborates with Directors to ensure all protocols are being followed

    • Assists with referral linkage to other services and community resources

    • Effectively communicates job and service expectations to Peer Support Specialists

    • Carries out other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities

    • Experience working with individuals who are or who have recently experienced homelessness, addictions/ mental health challenges, and who may have significant barriers to accessing services

    • Must be willing to embrace a self-directed approach to recovery and services

    • The ability to effectively advocate client needs and willingness to educate and empower the greater social service system to expand opportunities that are healthy and safe for the Black community

    • Must have a mindset that embraces individual rights, self-directed recovery and proactively advocates for participants regardless of their chosen pathway to recovery

    • Computer proficiency at a level needed to effectively perform job functions such as entering and retrieving data and preparing simple reports

    • Possess a valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, a sufficient driving history, and able to meet the minimum insurance required

    • Must meet requirements to complete Peer Delivered Service trainings approved by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)

    • Requires three years of supervisory and/or management experience
